MISSION
The Ventura County Emergency Planning Council (EPC) Business Preparedness Committee is a diverse group of businesses with knowledge and interest in regional disaster preparedness.
ROLE
- Support the mission and vision of the Ventura County Emergency Planning Council.
- Serve the emergency planning, response and recovery needs of the Ventura County private sector.
- Assist in the development and execution of the Ventura County Ready Business Program.
HISTORY
In July 2011, the Ventura County Emergency Planning Council formed a Business Preparedness Committee to encourage local businesses to prepare for local natural and man-made disasters.
The Business Preparedness Committee has since established an advisory group of local business leaders to develop a sustainable emergency preparedness program, as well as engage and educate the Ventura County business community.
SURVEY
The Committee's first step, in developing a countywide business preparedness program, was the distribution of a survey to determine the most effective ways to educate and assist local businesses with their own preparedness programs.
