MISSION

The Ventura County Emergency Planning Council (EPC) Business Preparedness Committee is a diverse group of businesses with knowledge and interest in regional disaster preparedness.

ROLE

Support the mission and vision of the Ventura County Emergency Planning Council.
Serve the emergency planning, response and recovery needs of the Ventura County private sector.
Assist in the development and execution of the Ventura County Ready Business Program.

HISTORY

In July 2011, the Ventura County Emergency Planning Council formed a Business Preparedness Committee to encourage local businesses to prepare for local natural and man-made disasters.

The Business Preparedness Committee has since established an advisory group of local business leaders to develop a sustainable emergency preparedness program, as well as engage and educate the Ventura County business community.

SURVEY

The Committee's first step, in developing a countywide business preparedness program, was the distribution of a survey to determine the most effective ways to educate and assist local businesses with their own preparedness programs.
